Very welcoming and super down to earth. Ryan is very easy going and super awesome at explaining the school and how it works. Also the teachers are great with the kids I highly recommend this school!

It was my first class tonight. Prior to getting to the academy I was so nervous, but once I got there all those nerves disappeared! It was such a welcoming and fun group. The instructors are great and the atmosphere was amazing! As a total beginner I had no idea what to expect, but now I would totally reccomend this to anyone! thank-you!

I came here from another gym to train some jiu jitsu. I have never felt more welcomed. Everyone was so nice, and knowledgeable. The instructor Ryan Bowan (bjj black belt) ran a fantastic class! I learned so much, and I will definitely bring my learning back to my gym to share. Ryan ran a disciplined but yet enjoyable and fun class. Thanks for everything, and I will definitely be returning. This club is exactly what martial arts should be, and if I could give it more than 5 stars, I would!!!

Being away from home and missing training sucks, however the amazing folks at Bowen BJJ made me feel right at home. Both the Saturday open mat and Tuesday BJJ class offered great training partners and a very welcoming atmosphere. Thank you to Ryan and all his students for this amazing experience.

My son's first visit was was Monday nite just to watch and there was no one there to watch! So instead of being shown the door with an I'm sorry nothing going on, you'll have to come back (as would happen in most places) My son follows Ryan, next thing I know he's dressed in white and ready to go!! Was shown lots of moves over the next hour by Ryan and Tyler! And had an awesome time. His words!

We signed our 8 year old up a little over a month ago. He can't get enough and there are a lot more young kids then I would have guessed. The instructors are fantastic, they make it fun while still being focused on the discipline. I would definitely recommend Bowen BJJ.

Senses are amazing. My son loves his class he already practices his moves , he's dressed and ready for class every Monday and Wednesday before I even get home from work. He's already talking about getting a strip for his belt. Just all round good place for kids

I am from out of town and was visiting family a few weeks ago. I got to take a class--very welcoming club. I've been doing BJJ a few years, but I have been doing other martial arts most of my life. One of the ways I tell people how to know if a club is good, is to not look at how many tournaments or trophies the head instructor has won, but to look at how to lowest students are doing. Are they learning, understanding, and having fun? I see all of this here. Their techniques are taught with detail and are fun to learn. I've been applying these techniques to the club I go to and have been talking to people about Bowen BJJ. I look forward to going back. 🥋🤜🤛😀

Best place to train in the greater St.Thomas area, hands down. The most experienced coached in both competition and self defense (over 50 years combined experience) accept no substitutes, weather it be to get in shape and learn some self defense or to compete in combat sports, there really is only one place where you get it all. Bjj, Muay Thai, Kickboxing, Judo, Military style hand to hand. Great people, always welcoming and it's located inside a beautifully equipped facility.
